V1.18 technical release
2006-05-21
Following
issues are solved:
- No
recording/playback after reboot
Some SpeechMikes have no record and
playback functionality if
connected to the PC during booting. Mouse
and button functions
are working. Unplugging and replugging the
SpeechMike
did cure the problem.
So far this behaviour could be observed only on PCs running with
Windows Vista but theoretically it could happen on different
operating systems also.
Only special SpeechMike-PC combinations will show this behaviour.
A SpeechMike having this problem may work perfect on a different
PC.
A PC having this problem may work perfect with a different
SpeechMike.
V1.17 technical release
2007-03-15
Improvements:
-
Improved slider handling
Previous versions reported wrong slider
events under rare conditions.
e.g.: even if the slider has been moved
only between STOP and PLAY,
the device has reported a FFWD event,
causing the PC to exit
record standby mode.
V1.16 technical release

Improvements:
-
Auto Upgrade Mode
This
firmware can be set to upgrade mode via a software command.
Following
issues are solved:
-
Fast slider movement
Very
fast slider movements are missed by the firmware under rare
conditions. e.g.: slider is moved very
fast, and stopped in PLAY
position but SpeechExec is still in STOP position.
V1.12 technical release
2006-03-30
Following
issues are solved:
-
Disabling the trackball
Disabling
the trackball via the Device Configuration Tool caused the
mouse pointer to move rapidly to a corner
of the PC screen after
PC boot or attaching the device.
V1.09 technical release
2005-12-21
Improvements:
-
Windows Audio Mixer Control
The
microphone gain adjustment via the Windows Audio mixer control is
implemented as a linear slider. In a typical office environment
this
slider is set somewhere in the lower third of the audio mixer
control.
To
enable finer adjustment in this lower third the slider behavior has
been changed.
-
Adjustable trackball sensitivity
The
trackball sensitivity is now adjustable in 4 steps:
a)
Default
sensitivity
b) sensitivity / 2
c) sensitivity / 3
d) sensitivity / 4
Note: The sensitivity settings are automatically changed to
setting b) when
new settings are transfered to the SpeechMike with the Device
Configuration
Tool V2.3 Build 100
Following
issues are solved:
- PC
freezes while booting
If a SpeechMike II is connected via the SpeechExec Dongle to the
PC some
computers freeze during the boot process. This firmware version
corrects
this behavior.
Software
restrictions:
Attaching
more than one Philips Speech Processing USB device may cause the
serial
number programming tool to malfunction. Upon detection of more than
one USB
device the tool will display following error message:
Connected
device: 2 devices connected
Please
make sure only the desired device is attached.
The
SpeechMikeII Device Configuration Tool does not support multiple attached
SpeechMikeII
devices with different types (e.g.: LFH5260 and LFH5270). The tool
displays
the message Connected device: Different devices connected in this
case.
Please make sure to connect only devices with the same LFH-number.
V1.07 technical release
2005-10-03
-
Audio device not working after PC boot
The audio interfaces of the SMike II
might not work if they are not used
immediately after system start up (if SMike
II is connected during PC boot,
or if SMike II is connected when PC is
already running). The Device Manager
will not detect this error and still
displays “the device is working
properly”.
V1.06 technical release
2005-09-22
-
Audio device freezes if used by two applications
If two applications are using the
SMike II as sound input and output
device, the audio interfaces of the SMike
II could crash. The audio
function is not accessible anymore
afterwards.
-
Recording interrupted when moving the scroll wheel
When moving the scroll wheel in record mode the recording was
interrupted.
If muting
has been enabled the initial firmware version has muted the
microphone signal when moving the scroll
wheel. Since the scroll wheel
movement produces no audible sound, scroll
wheel muting has been disabled.
-
SpeechExec freezes if buttons are pressed
Pressing of SMike II buttons during
the start up process of Speech
Exec caused the SMike II and subsequently
Speech Exec to hang.
